Agility Instructor Course

Adding agility to your dog training business can give you a great additional income stream, whilst having fun and teaching something which never stops developing.

Agility is now one of the most popular dog sports in the UK and is growing faster than ever.

This 3 day course will give you the knowledge and skills to teach your own ongoing agility classes.

 
 

COURSE INFORMATION

COURSE CONTENT:

 Agility rules and regulation (theory) 

Health and Safety – when and what exercises are appropriate

Practical teaching throughout the course

Class plans: Beginner to Advanced

Sequence work, planning exercises and courses, understanding Grading 1-7

How to teach the different equipment; including

  • Weaves

  • Contact equipment (A-frame, Seesaw, Dog Walk)

  • Jumps 

  • Tunnels 

  • Tyres

Break down of advantages and disadvantages for different trainig techniques on each piece of equipment. 

Basic handling, how to start and build motivation

 Advance handling, control and speed

Remote handling

Send away’s

Basic and advanced turns

I’ve taken clients from beginner to competition levels, and worked a s a judge on several competitions. I have competed agility and showjumping myself before turning to coaching, and have a huge love and passion for this sport!”

I am also a very proud member of the Institute of Modern Dog trainers and have work as an Assessor for the organisation for 5 years.

EACH DAY WILL RUN FROM 10AM - 3PM

You are welcome to bring your own dog, no previous agility experience necessary.
